There was commotion at UNILIA’s Kaning’ina Campus ground on 18 November 2023 during the third year vs fourth year vice principal’s trophy game, when one player got served by fourth year students goal keeper Ackson the Jet-li.
It was a man to man encounter which saw the third year striker accidentally stepping into Acksons berry when he was trying to shoot the ball into the net and it later ended into bouts.
This caused about a fifteen-minute break until the game came back on into full play.
The game ended with a 2-0 victory to the third year students while it was hard luck to the final year students.
One of the players for the third year team Patrick Maloni said there is need for discipline among the players to avoid such incidents from further happening.
“As a player you have to learn to discipline yourself, self-control is very vital when you are playing soccer to be a better player,” said Maloni.
Wackson Titus Mvula A.K.A Madinga who was officiating the game said it was a good game despite the fight that erupted.
“These players know each other and it wasn’t going to be a big case as it appeared only if the players controlled their tempers,
The players received yellow cards for their in-disciplinary actions and we hope that the next games are going to be organized,” said Mvula.
On the other hand, striker for the finale team Don Manzy showed his sports man ship spirit by congratulating the winners, the associates on the schools’ entertainment group.
“Today’s game was a real derby, congratulations to the associate,” said Manzy.
The games will continue until next week where log table leaders will be crowned champions.
