Players cry over poor management skills during Kaning’ina Vs ECHOS games

By Madalisto Mtukula

On 10, February,2024 Kaning'ina Campus of the UNILIA hosted Ekwendeni College of Health Science for sports activities at Kaning’ina.

All games went well, and people were cheering and having a good time both in sports and while having fun.

The Kaning'ina Campus emerged as the winner in three out of four games played on the day.

Despite all the good things that happened, some concerns were raised, especially regarding the football side.

Speaking with Pamtondo Online, a source who opted for anonymity

pointed out the issue which the teams management has been doing of allowing people who are not students at the university to play in the games while students just stand as spectators.

"As a player who is also a student at Kaning'ina, It worries me to see people who do not study at our school playing for our campus. I know it's good for our campus to win every game, but if we keep considering outsiders to play for our team, we won't grow as a team, we'll just be there, hoping everything goes well,” he said

Another source said having players who are not students playing for the campus is not a big deal because in the end the team will always benefit.

“ I think our school team, apart from having outsiders added to our team, lacks confidence, which leads them to make these decisions. I hope in the next semester, we will change as a team," he concluded.

This however seems to be a problem within UNILIA teams as during the games people also witnessed an outsider playing as an ECHOS basketball player which caused some confrontations during the game.
