On February 10, 2024, the University of Livingstonia turned into a lively battleground as City Campus played host to Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences in a sports extravaganza at the Kaning'ina Campus.
Despite the rain attempting to dampen spirits, the day buzzed with activity, featuring exciting competitions in football, netball, basketball, and volleyball.
City Campus emerged victorious in three out of four games: football, basketball, and netball. The volleyball match, however, concluded in a thrilling draw.
Expressing her thoughts on the outcome, ECHOS Sports Director, Neddie Mhango, admitted, "We didn't secure a single win, and that's disappointing. But as a team, we'll improve, and I believe better results are within reach if we stick together."
Meanwhile, Kaning'ina Campus Sports Director, Michael Majawa, celebrated his first trip since taking on the role. He enthusiastically shared the unique experience of playing at Moyale, considering it a rare treat for their campus.
Majawa expressed satisfaction with his team's performance, securing three wins and a draw. He commended the discipline of the players and promised more exciting trips in the future, encouraging Kaning'ina residents to stay tuned.
One of the enthusiastic supporters, Tumpale Malange, anticipated a positive impact on campus performance, including at Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences. The rain couldn't dampen the spirits of the competitors, and it seems like more thrilling sports adventures are on the horizon for these campuses.
