Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services has announced the resumption of passport services in Blantyre, effective July 10, 2024.
National Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Immigration and Citizenship Services, Wellington Chiponde has disclosed this Monday in Blantyre through a Press Release.
He stated that after a temporary suspension, the Department was now inviting all individuals seeking passport services to access them at the immigration headquarters offices in Blantyre.
“The Department expressed its appreciation for the patience and understanding of passport applicants during the suspension period,” Chiponde added.
The PRO said the Department has reiterated its commitment to providing efficient and reliable services that meet the expectations of its clients which are citizens and address all challenges related to passport services.
Chiponde pointed out that this development was a welcome relief to many in Blantyre and surrounding areas who have been awaiting the resumption of passport services.
He observed that the Department's efforts to improve its services are commendable, and this move was expected to reduce the backlog of passport applications and enhance the overall experience for citizens.
“With the resumption of passport services in Blantyre, the Department is set to provide better services to its clients. The Public is encouraged to take advantage of this development and access the services they need,” the PRO added.
