It was a rough and bumpy ride at UNILIA kaning’ina campus during the campaigning period for seats in the students Union.
After hours of waiting since students casted their votes finally a decision has been made and winners have emerged.
Out of 22 candidates who where participating on various positions, 10 candidates have emerged victorious.
The new students Union will be lead by Timothy Huwa who has won by 140 votes while his opponent coming out short with 116 votes out of total 268 votes casted on that position.
The entertainment directors position, which got heated up during the campaigning period will be lead by Prince Mbeke who got 106 votes while his opponent Fabulous Pemba managed to get 94 votes and Edward Kamvam’bingu, a new name on the campus managed to get 56 votes.
Celebrations for the victory will be spiced up with the Ndasambila surf open air organised by the fleshy elected- continuing entertainment director Prince Mbeke starting from 1-2 December 2023.
18 boys contested while only 4 girls took part in the elections representing a 25% marginalisation margin in the activities.
The new students Union is expected to start functioning come next semester.
