UNILIA’s Kaning’ina entertainment director, in association with ENTERCOM, released the first episode of UNILIA’s Kaning’ina Podcast on 02 February.
Prince Mbekeyani, entertainment director at Kaning’ina campus said that the podcast will feature interviews with random students at Kaning’ina campus and that he came up with the idea of the podcast with an aim of unifying students at the campus by introducing them through the podcast and also entertaining them at the same time.
“It was due to people’s suggestions that we came up with the idea of the podcast. As an entertainment director, I was looking for a way to entertain the people, and interviewing people from the school seemed like one of the best entertainment ideas,” said Mbeke.
However, Nancy Tembo, one of the viewers of the podcast, said the audio was too low, making it hard for viewers to understand most of the questions. She also suggested that the host should be someone studying journalism at the campus.
On the other hand, Austin Zakaria, who also watched the first episode of the show, commended the idea of introducing the podcast as a good one. Although he pointed out errors in the show, which he believes could have been avoided if proper production measures were taken.
Mbeke responded to such reviews by saying that he and his team have heard the suggestions people have raised, describing some as constructive. He assured that the coming episodes of the show would be top-notch.
“Through people’s reactions, we have observed where we were going wrong and have fixed such errors. We are also happy to announce that from the next show onwards, we will be working with Journalism and Development Communication members.
This is important since they will have a platform to showcase the basic skills they learn in class and put them into practice. We will also be working with J-One for smooth audio production since the next episodes will be pre-recorded,” further added Mbeke.
UNILIA’s Kaning’ina podcast will be aired every Friday as one way of bringing entertainment to Kaning’ina campus.
