In an official press statement issued on Monday, 4 June 2024, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) announced significant changes within its leadership.

Following the expiration of the contract of the former Director General, Martha Chizuma, the Deputy Director General,  Hillary Chilomba, has assumed the role of Acting Director General. This transition is in accordance with Section 8 of the Corrupt Practices Act.

The ACB expressed its appreciation for Ms. Martha Chizuma's dedication and commitment in leading the fight against corruption. “Her tireless efforts have been instrumental in creating a corruption-free Malawi,” reads part of the statement.

The ACB assures all stakeholders that its operations will continue seamlessly under the leadership of the Acting Director General. The bureau therefore calls upon everyone in the country to provide necessary support during this transition.
