Malinga Mafia, a prominent dancehall musician, has issued an apology to his fans in Mangochi for failing to perform at the Illuzions Beach Festival.
In a statement, Malinga Mafia attributed his absence to logistical issues, citing a single entrance for both fans and performers, which caused delays.
"Despite being present at the venue, we were unable to take the stage due to the event organizers' failure to provide separate entries for artists and fans," the statement read.
Malinga Mafia and his team waited in line for nearly an hour, missing their scheduled performance time. Fellow artist Don Tarz also faced similar delays.
Black Missionaries filled the slot, opening the show instead of Malinga Mafia and Don Tarz, who were initially scheduled as the first performers.
Malinga Mafia commended the stage managers for adhering to the schedule but offered advice for future events: "Next time, take notes from other festival organizers and provide separate entries for fans and artists to ensure timely performances."
Fans will have another opportunity to see Malinga Mafia perform at the "Best of Gwamba" concert on September 21st at Civo Stadium.
