JOHN CENA PRESENTS AWARDS WHILST NAKED

By Madalitso Mtukula

At the 96th Academy Awards last night, John Cena, the famous wrestler-turned-actor, grabbed attention by presenting an award in a way that amazed and amused the audience. The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood saw Cena's moving as he stepped into the stage in a way that left the audience amused.

Hosted by the charismatic Jimmy Kimmel, the Oscars celebrated great filmmaking, honoring outstanding achievements in movies from the past year.

The movie "Oppenheimer" led the nominations with an impressive 13 nods, followed closely by "Poor Things" with 11 nominations. "Killers of the Flower Moon" also got attention with 10 nominations.

As anticipation grew, Cena's unexpected appearance added an unforgettable twist to the evening. When Cena was called upon to present the award for Best Costume Design, the audience held its breath. Instead of rushing across the stage as expected, Cena chose a more delicate approach. Holding the card with the nominees' names, he walked gracefully, revealing his well-built body and a mischievous grin.

Cena's importance of costumes in filmmaking was highlighted as he handed the coveted award to Holly Waddington, the designer behind "Poor Things." Kimmel, always the entertainer, helped Cena by quickly covering him with a makeshift robe. Waddington, visibly moved, thanked the Academy and her fellow nominees.

"Thank you to the Academy, thank you to my fellow nominees. It's an incredible privilege to be in the same room as all of you. You're the people who inspired me to become a costume designer in the first place."

She also described "Poor Things" as a rare chance for artistic freedom, thanking director Yorgos Lanthimos for creating bold and brave work.

As the night went on, other winners took the stage, including "CODA" for Best Picture, Jessica Chastain for Best Actress, and Will Smith for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

The Oscars celebrated creativity, talent, and, thanks to Cena, a memorable moment that will be remembered in Hollywood history. Whether Cena's daring presentation becomes a new Oscars tradition remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the 2024 Academy Awards will be remembered for more than just outstanding films—it'll be the night John Cena bared it all for the love of cinema.
