CorpsAfrica, an organization focusing on promoting community development in Africa, has launched a university information sessions across all 3 UNILIA campuses to encourage youths to get involved in volunteer work. The event took place on 9 March at Kaning'ina campus in Mzuzu.
In a statement, Chifundo Chiwaka, a communication officer at CorpsAfrica, said, they believe that youths are the change makers, so CorpsAfrica provides platforms for youths to work with communities.
"To all youths who will be applying, focus on the essays and make sure that you are not too humble or shy in sharing your experiences. Instead, share any relevant information such as internships or part-time jobs for you to be considered," Chiwaka said.
The call for applications to join CorpsAfrica Malawi as a volunteer opens on march.
CorpsAfrica addresses two of Africa's most difficult challenges: engaging youth and helping rural communities overcome extreme poverty. It recruits and trains motivated volunteers to live and work in rural and under-resourced areas in their own countries.
It was founded in 2011 by former Peace Corps Volunteer Liz Fanning with the idea of improving community development in Africa through local changemakers. The organization aims to provide volunteering opportunities to African graduates to work with African communities and facilitate community development.
