The Ministry of Education has announced the top performing education districts in the 2024 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations.
Zomba Urban emerged as the top performing district with a pass rate of 61.97 percent, closely followed by Mzuzu City with 61.87 percent.
Karonga secured third place with 61.13 percent, while Dowa and Chitipa trailed behind with 60.05 percent and 59.81 percent, respectively.
Other districts that made it to the top 10 list include Nkhotakota with 59.07 percent, Dedza with 58.94 percent, Phalombe with 57.05 percent, Ntchisi with 57.02 percent, and Nkhata Bay with 56.71 percent.
Minister of Education, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima, hailed the 2024 MSCE examinations as a success, noting that they were leakage-free and released in a timely manner. "This demonstrates our commitment to efficiency," Wirima said.
The Minister also commended the Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) for its effective oversight. "MANEB's leadership has ensured the integrity and smooth administration of the exams," Wirima added.
