The Mzimba Heritage Association (Mziha) is gearing up for a spectacular Umthetho Cultural Festival this year, with a doubled budget of K156 million to accommodate international guests from South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Kenya.
According to Kingsley Jere, Secretary of Mziha, the festival's highlights will include the attendance of South Africa's Zulu Nation King MisuZulu, who will be accompanied by over 200 people.
The presence of international guests has necessitated the need for more resources to ensure a successful and memorable event.
In preparation for the festival, Ngoni King Inkosi ya Makhosi M'mbelwa V recently visited the Hora Heritage Centre, the venue for the festival, to assess the progress of developments taking place there.
He also met with Mziha Blantyre chapter members to emphasize the importance of stepping up preparations for the festival.
The Ngoni King is scheduled to meet with different members in Lilongwe to ensure that all chapters of Mziha are well-prepared for the festival.
He will be accompanied by Mziha national chairperson Mzondi Moyo, Inkosi Jalavibuka, Jere, and former ambassador Chimango Chirwa. The king is committed to making this year's Umthetho Cultural Festival a resounding success.
