President of the United States of America Joseph Biden has announced his stand down in the elections that are expected to be held on November 5, this year.
In a letter that Biden published on his page, it says the development is very necessary for his party and the country.
Biden has expressed his gratitude to all people who have worked hard to see him elected.
"I want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for being an extraordinary partner in all this work. And let me express my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me" reads part of the letter.
It is not yet known who the next Democratic party candidate will be, meanwhile vice President Kamala Harris has already received several endorsements from high-profile Democrats, including Senator Elizabeth Warren and governors Gavin Newsom and Josh Shapiro.
