A new disease outbreak has been reported in Neno district, with 32 cases of gastroenteritis recorded at the district hospital. The bacterial infection has already claimed three lives, according to a situation report released by hospital authorities.
Laboratory tests on water samples revealed that 13 out of 26 samples tested positive for the disease-causing bacteria. The outbreak has affected 12 villages in the district, located approximately 20 kilometers away from the hospital.
The situation report has raised concerns about the spread of the disease, and health officials are urged to take swift action to contain the outbreak and prevent further loss of life.
